Park City Marriott Hotel Unveils Its Multi-Million Dollar Renovation

PARK CITY, UT--(Marketwired - Nov 15, 2013) - The Marriott Park City Hotel, located in the Prospector Square area near all of the ski resorts, today announced the completion of its multi-million dollar renovation. The transformation, a collaborative effort of Sunstone Hotel Investors, the property owner, and Looney & Associates design team, includes a new concept for the lobby, restaurant, concierge lounge and bar areas along with a refresh of all meeting spaces, guestrooms and corridors. "The overall goal is to engage the guests and re-energize the space with a modern, eclectic design, giving a nod to the beauty of the region and the bounty of activities available," states Brooke Miller, Looney & Associates project designer.

After a day on the slopes, outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the warm and inviting look and feel of the new lobby designed to encourage friends and families to gather and network. The décor features warm, vibrant hues with deep colored wood shelving accents that surround a central stone fireplace. The setting creates a cozy atmosphere that is perfect for a snowy mountain retreat. Upon careful examination, guests will be drawn to the "Discovery Bookcase" where treasures and surprises wait to be found for investigators of all ages. Seekers will enjoy the wonderment that the "Discovery Bookcase" has to offer, whether it is a game of Jenga, Steven King's classic novels or the hidden Jackalope. Community involvement and local support were the inspiration for the bookcase. "We are very fortunate to work with the Park City Local Library and Main Street's Dolly's Bookstore to stock our shelves. The environment is the perfect place to unwind after a day on the slopes or a day in the office," said General Manager Bill Ripple.

Marriott's signature service continues to offer guests a brilliant experience with such enhancements as a new dynamic pod-style registration desk allowing for an easy interaction between guests and associates. The custom art installation behind the front desk references the area's mining history. The upgraded concierge area allows guests to quickly and easily converse with the knowledgeable staff regarding restaurants, transportation, and everything else that Park City has to offer.

The hotel's dining room and lounge, one of many unique Park City restaurants, have been transformed into a place where you can Drink, Eat, Network as a group or enjoy a romantic evening for two. The restaurant's new concept is named after these attributes as "D.E.N. Restaurant." The setting is one of warm woods, accented by contemporary style furnishings, blended together into a space that makes the perfect ending to your Park City Ski Vacation Day. Timbers Lounge, the hotel's new bar, is a draw for guests and locals alike. A new fireplace lounge within the bar provides an intimate area for mingling. Flexible seating throughout easily accommodates large and small groups for socializing and dining. The brilliant quartzite bar top, glimmering glass tile, and punched metallic light fixtures provide a welcome juxtaposition with the rustic barn wood walls and the colorful moose head coat hooks. The upholstery fabrics run the gamut from pony hide to embossed leather to elegant knotted patterns. The seating throughout the bar allows guests to stay connected to the wireless network for either work or leisure activities.

Unique to the ski town where Sundance is king, this Park City ski lodging venue has a new twist on where business meets pleasure at the "Business Center Loft." This lounge-like setting is perfect for personal productivity, small gatherings, impromptu meetings or just a great place to kick back and read a book from the "Discovery Bookcase." Connections are abundant in the Loft -- whether it is with wireless PDA's, laptops, personal colleagues, business associates or new friends.

The Starbucks® and Gift Shop, conveniently located between the lobby and the new ski shop, is also included in the renovation package. Guest can enjoy a warm cup of Starbucks dark roast or a rich espresso together with an assortment of snacks on their winter ski vacation, without leaving this Park City mountain ski hotel.

Aloha Ski & Snowboard, who was voted best ski and snowboard rentals by locals and visitors in 2013, joins the total guest experience on-site so patrons can take care of all of their Snow Ski Rental needs without having to leave the building. Expert staff will ensure that guests are fitted with the right equipment designed for a broad range of skier levels. This Park City hotel is central to all of the ski resorts: Park City Mountain Resort, Deer Valley Resort and Canyons Resort. Check-in, pick up your gear, and be on the slopes within minutes.

The expert culinary team is rolling out new menus to accompany the new approach at the Park City Marriott. Lite bites and libations are available for après ski in Timber's Lounge. Local and organic themed meals wait in D.E.N. Restaurant while creative breaks are available for corporate meetings. An expert catering and planning staff are available to consult for social gatherings or the wedding of a lifetime.
