Chicagoans Wearing Jockey Underwear Compete in Spirited Game of Dodgeball... for a Good Cause

Iconic Underwear Brand Launches Jockey® Sport Performance Men's Underwear Collection With an Unusual Game of Dodgeball

KENOSHA, WI--(Marketwire - September 25, 2010) -  Today, Jockey International, Inc., put its new men's Jockey® Sport Performance collection to the test by attempting to break the world record for the largest dodgeball game at Chicago's Windy City Fieldhouse. The players donned Jockey® Sport Performance boxer briefs during the game and in honor of National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, Jockey donated $10,000 to the Prostate Cancer Foundation to support programs and research dedicated to finding a cure for cancer below the waist.

"Jockey® Sport Performance is a new collection of what we call 'unordinary underwear for unordinary athletes,'" said Jockey Senior Vice President, Design, Research and Product Development, Sally Tomkins. "With athletic styling in a comfortable, blended fabric, these undergarments offer superior support and are sure to be a favorite for the active man."

More than 100 players threw 50 dodgeballs in friendly competition to exemplify the inspiration behind Jockey's new men's collection -- freedom of active pursuit. Jockey® Sport Performance undergarments are designed for uninterrupted movement with ultimate comfort and support.

"We are pleased that so many people came out to have some fun, try out our new Jockey® Sport Performance collection and most importantly, raise money for a great cause," Jockey spokesperson Mo Moorman added. "What better way to demonstrate the unique features and benefits of our 'unordinary underwear' than with the rather unordinary game of dodgeball?"

According to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer in America. One in six American men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, making men 35 percent more likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer than women are to be diagnosed with breast cancer. Although early prostate cancer has a very high cure rate, it usually has no symptoms, so it is important for men to be aware of the risk and seek screening.

"The Jockey dodgeball event is a creative way to raise awareness for the number one men's health crisis in America and we appreciate Jockey's generous donation to support the advancement of prostate cancer research and awareness," said Dan Zenka, Prostate Cancer Foundation's vice president of communications and a recently diagnosed prostate cancer patient. "We are firmly committed to finding a cure for prostate cancer so men can continue to live healthy, active, long lives."

The Jockey® Sport Performance line offers low rise brief, trunk, boxer brief and Midway® brief styles in two-packs, as well as individual muscle and crew t-shirts for a suggested retail price of $19.50. Jockey® Sport Performance is identifiable by a distinctive green cue and is available at, 1-800-JOCKEY-1 and various retailers. To find out more about the Prostate Cancer Foundation, visit
