Chicago's Wells Street Art Festival Celebrates 40th Anniversary in June

Planned Property Management Invites Gold Coast-Area Residents to Support Community Group, Savor Local Cuisine

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - Oct 10, 2014) - One of the oldest and largest art fairs in Chicago, the Wells Street Art Festival celebrated its 40th anniversary June 14 and 15 with the works of more than 250 juried artists from across the country.

From 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, and Sunday, June 15, along Wells Street between North Avenue and Division Street, Chicagoans and visitors could browse and purchase pieces from a broad range of mediums including ceramics, paintings, photography, sculptures and woodwork. A $7 suggested donation helps support the Old Town Merchants and Residents Association.

"The Wells Street Art Festival attracts an estimated 50,000 visitors each year, and it's easy to see why," said Jasko Omervic of Planned Property Management, which owns and operates a number of rental properties in the Gold Coast and Old Town areas, including at 1330 N. Dearborn. "The fine art is the focal point, but the community is also home to some great cuisine."

In addition to the artwork, visitors could sample the fare of numerous Old Town restaurants while enjoying live music. The 2014 Wells Street Art Festival also featured a silent auction each day, and a children's activity area is available for those attending with youngsters.
