Chief Electoral Officer's Report on the 42nd General Election is Now Available

GATINEAU, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Feb. 5, 2016) -

- The report of the Chief Electoral Officer of Canada, Marc Mayrand, on the 42nd general election is now available on the Elections Canada website at elections.ca.

- The Chief Electoral Officer must present a report to the Speaker of the House of Commons within 90 days after the date specified for the return of the writs in the election proclamation. The report describes Elections Canada's activities leading up to and during the election held on October 19, 2015, as well as related key issues.

Elections Canada is an independent body set up by Parliament.
