Chief Engineer and General Manager for Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County Announces Retirement

WHITTIER, CA--(Marketwire - Nov 23, 2011) - Stephen R. Maguin, Chief Engineer and General Manager of the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County, has announced his retirement effective early 2012. Mr. Maguin is a 41-year employee of the Sanitation Districts who has served for the last 5 1/2 years in the capacity of the Chief Engineer and General Manager.

The Sanitation Districts Board of Directors has appointed Grace R. Chan as the new Chief Engineer and General Manager upon Mr. Maguin's retirement. Ms. Chan is a 28-year employee of the Sanitation Districts who has served for the last 3 years in the capacity of Assistant Chief Engineer and Assistant General Manager.

The Sanitation Districts provide environmentally sound, cost effective wastewater and solid waste management for more than half the population of Los Angeles County, and in doing so take what others think of as waste and turn it into resources such as reclaimed water, energy, and recycled materials.
