Childcare Industry Continues to Thrive Due to High Demand

Children's Education Category Becomes a Growing Sector for Franchisees

BALTIMORE, MD--(Marketwire - Oct 17, 2012) - Child care is a hot topic today. Between talk of tuition rates, to increasingly high demand for quality services, to government reform relating to the industry, you can't escape it -- parent or not. IBISworld.com projects the Childcare Industry will see an increase in growth of 2.9% over the course of the next five years.

So what are childcare companies doing in the face of all this growth? According to Sue Hilger, vice president of franchise development for Kiddie Academy, some are finding new and exciting ways to differentiate themselves in the face of the consumer.

"The growth of the industry is really exciting, but it also creates an opportunity to set ourselves apart from the competition and gain a larger share of the growth. That includes creative marketing tactics and initiatives, increased concentration on educational components, unique offerings and a focus on the community," Hilger said. "From that, business professionals are taking notice as well and inquiring about becoming a franchisee. It's a really positive cycle of growth."

Kiddie Academy, with over 105 open locations nationwide and over 50 in development, is not the largest childcare company in the industry, however, their ability to be innovative has positioned them among the industry leaders. They have found interesting ways to make their concept more attractive to the consumer and potential franchisees, including an exceptional educational philosophy called Life Essentials, a partnership agreement with Kindermusik to offer the Kiddie Academy Music & More program, an initiative with the Let's Move health and fitness program, a mobilized website and a national literacy event called Storytime LIVE!

"Kiddie Academy is committed to first and foremost providing the best possible care and education for our families, but also re-evaluating our services as our customers' needs evolve. This industry is constantly changing and it's important to stay current. We've become experts in the field of early childhood education and the franchising space, which is something customers and franchisees notice when exploring Kiddie Academy," Hilger said.
