Chilean Vizcachitas Owners Comment on GHG Resources Announcement

SANTIAGO, CHILE--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 22, 2006) - The Chilean co-owners of the Vizcachitas project ("Turnbrook") today commented on yesterday's surprise hostile announcement by GHG Resources ("GHG") on their option to purchase the interests of Global Copper Corp. ("Global") in the Vizcachitas project (the "Project").

Turnbrook's spokesman, Gonzalo Delaveau, commented "Vizcachitas has been paralysed for over twenty years as a consequence of its fragmented ownership, resulting in multiple litigations during this period. Several mining companies, including Global, Lumina Copper Corp., General Minerals Corp. and Placer Dome Inc. have all been unsuccessful in carrying the Project forward because they have failed to consolidate ownership."

Turnbrook is a company that owns a 49% interest in the 70 hectare core mining claim staked over the high-grade centre of the Vizcachitas porphyry copper system (the "San Jose" claim), together with other rights essential to the Project's development. Timely development of Vizcachitas will ultimately be contingent upon Turnbrook's cooperation, as each of these interests and rights is a potential "fatal flaw" to mine development.
