China Grants Unity Wireless Patent for Microwave & Laser Linked Repeaters

20-Year Patent Provides Unity With a Sustainable Competitive Advantage in One of the World's Largest & Fastest Growing Wireless Markets

BELLINGHAM, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 8, 2007 -- Unity Wireless Corporation (OTCBB: UTYW) today announced that China has given certification to Unity's Celerica repeater group for their "Cellular Base Station with Remote Antenna" patent employing microwave and/or free space optics (laser beam) links to connect the remote repeater to the main cellular base station.

"We estimate that today 5% of repeaters globally use microwave or FSO as the communications link back to the cellular base station, as opposed to radio frequency. Unity now has the patent on this segment of the repeater market in China," said Ilan Kenig, President and CEO of Unity Wireless.

Mr. Kenig continued, "Several factors will drive the requirement for microwave and FSO repeaters higher over the coming years:

-- Radio frequency spectrum is a limited commodity and increasingly in
short supply, heightening the demand for Microwave and FSO links.
-- As urban networks increase in RF density, interference and licensing
issues are driving demand for unlicensed and safe FSO links in short
    distance applications.
-- Wireless networks in the high growth nations are now expanding
coverage from the urban core out to the countryside requiring longer
distance 'hops' more suited to a microwave link.
We see this patent, in such a key global growth market, as a very significant event in our company's history, and a tool that will grow in its importance as a sustainable competitive advantage for Unity Wireless."
