China Shuts Down 156 Small Thermal Power Units in the First Half of 2007, an Industrial Info News Alert

As an important measure for energy conservation and the reduction of pollutant discharge, China shut down 156 small coal-fired power generation units with a combined generating capacity of 5,510 megawatts (MW) in the first half of 2007, accounting for 55% of the target set for 2007, announced by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on July 17, 2007.
