China Wind Power Announces Mailing of Management Information Circular With Respect to Proposed Special Meeting

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 15, 2016) - China Wind Power International Corp. (the "Company") announces that it has mailed its Management Information Circular (the "Circular") and related voting materials to shareholders of the Company (the "Shareholders") in connection with the special meeting of Shareholders to be held on October 13, 2016 (the "Meeting"). The Meeting will be held at 199 Bay Street, Suite 4000, Commerce Court West, Toronto, Ontario at 10:00 a.m. (Toronto time). The Circular has also been filed under the Company's SEDAR profile at

As previously announced, the Meeting will be convened in connection with an arrangement agreement (the "Arrangement Agreement") between the Company and Ruihao Trust ("Ruihao"), a major shareholder of the Company, pursuant to which it is proposed that the Company will sell all or substantially all of its assets to Ruihao for $12,310,000 by way of a plan of arrangement (the "Arrangement") under the Business Corporations Act (Ontario) (the "OBCA"). Upon completion of the Arrangement, it is expected that the Company will voluntarily dissolve (the "Dissolution") pursuant to Section 237(a) of the OBCA.
