China's Silan-IC Selects Silvaco TCAD Process and Device Simulation Software for Development of Power Devices

3D TCAD Simulation Plays Critical Role in Large Structure Power Device Design and Optimization

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 11, 2015) - Silvaco, Inc. today announced that China's Hangzhou Silan Integrated Circuit Co., Ltd (Silan-IC) has adopted its TCAD process and device simulation software for the development of power devices and related applications. The order includes Silvaco's Victory Process (3D) and Athena (2D) process simulation and Victory Device (3D) and Atlas (2D) for device simulation, as well as Virtual Wafer Fab (VWF) for advanced analysis tasks, such as design of experiments (DOE), and for process or device optimization.

"Two- and three-dimensional TCAD simulations help designers obtain a better understanding of the properties and behavior of new and current devices, providing improved reliability and scalability, while also helping to increase development speed and reduce risks and uncertainties," said Huiyong Liu, Design Service Department Manager of Silan-IC. "After an intensive evaluation, we chose Silvaco's 2D and 3D process and device simulation tools specifically for their ability to help us quickly analyze large, complex 3D power device structures, as well as for the Silvaco team's responsive customer support."

"The speed and accuracy of Silvaco's 3D TCAD process and device simulation software is helping our customers reduce costs and time to market while achieving optimized and reliable designs," said David L. Dutton, Chief Executive Officer of Silvaco. "Silvaco is a leader in delivering leading edge TCAD-to-signoff tools to power electronics designers and manufacturers. Shanghai Silvaco Software Technology Co. is expanding in the growing China market and we are very pleased to work with an innovative power electronics company like Silan-IC."
