Chinook Hosting Announces BroadSoft as One of the First Hosted Unified Communications Deployments on Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2

BroadSoft Unifies Internal Communications, Delivering Advanced Collaboration and Presence Capabilities to Its Global Workforce

SEATTLE, WA and GAITHERSBURG, MD--(Marketwire - June 25, 2009) - Chinook Hosting, a leader in the hosted applications industry, today announced that it has been selected to support BroadSoft's internal Unified Communications (UC) deployment -- one of the industry's first hosted UC deployments on Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 Release 2. The deployment will enhance BroadSoft's workforce productivity through more effective internal and external communications and collaboration, and complete desktop collaboration with remote users.

Chinook is delivering a premium Hosted UC solution that integrates BroadSoft's BroadWorks® VoIP application platform and Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 hosted at Chinook. The solution combines hosted e-mail, instant messaging and user presence with BroadWorks, enabling BroadSoft to take advantage of new capabilities such as click-to-call from the user's desktop. In addition, the solution provides user real-time presence indication, secure instant messaging, and desktop and application sharing over the network.

BroadSoft expects to achieve cost savings and meaningful productivity gains by enabling:

BroadSoft completed interoperability testing and validation of Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 in conjunction with Microsoft Corp. in early 2009. To prepare for the deployment, Chinook collaborated with BroadSoft's interoperability team to fully validate Office Communications Server 2007 R2 with the latest BroadWorks releases, ensuring a seamless transition for BroadSoft to the Office Communications Server 2007 R2 platform.
