Chip Estimate Announces Collaboration With IBM and Chartered to Deliver IP Search and Chip Planning to Customers

Unified Portal Streamlines IP Search for Common Platform Foundry Technology

CUPERTINO, CA--(Marketwire - September 10, 2007) - Chip Estimate Corporation today announced a collaboration with IBM and Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing Ltd. to consolidate information on semiconductor intellectual property (IP) that supports Common Platform technology. The Common Platform web site is also linked to the chip planning portal.

Electronics designers can go to one location at to find a complete catalog of 90-nanometer (nm), 65nm and 45nm IP that has been developed to take advantage of the multiple sourcing capabilities offered by the Common Platform technology alliance.

"Common Platform technology is about enabling customers with design support and a robust ecosystem of design solutions. We are now taking that to the next level by providing easier access to ecosystem solutions. We are working with Chip Estimate to make it easier for customers to identify qualified IP and make informed decisions that will mitigate their risk and help them get to market sooner," commented Walter Ng, senior director of platform alliances at Chartered.

The Common Platform IP Portal streamlines access to comprehensive data on semiconductor IP, including component features, deliverables, quality and status in silicon, and connects designers directly to the respective IP suppliers. The launch of the portal delivers on a goal of the Common Platform technology alliance to foster a robust design enablement ecosystem to benefit the electronics design industry.

"The industry stands to benefit from the choice and multi-sourcing capabilities provided by Common Platform technology," commented Adam Traidman, CEO at Chip Estimate. "We're pleased to have been selected as the central portal for design teams to have unified access to IP on the Common Platform."

The Common Platform IP portal is available immediately and is a free service to the semiconductor design community. To search for IP and learn more, please visit:
