Chiropractor Participates in Free Health Fair for Charlotte Back Pain Patients on Saturday, November 5

CHARLOTTE, NC--(Marketwire - Nov 4, 2011) - Omni Wellness Center announced that it will be participating in the Mountain Island Health Fair, to be held Saturday, November 5, 2011. The wellness center will be providing free spinal screenings and information on chiropractic adjustments for natural pain relief, as well as tips for preventing back injuries during the holiday season. The health fair will also feature vision, hearing, cholesterol, blood pressure, and dental health screenings, as well as live music, a bouncy house and a kid's corner. The health fair is free and open to the public.

Dr. Darcey Walraven Ladner, a Charlotte chiropractor with Omni Wellness Center, announced that the clinic will be offering complimentary spinal screenings at the Mountain Island Health Fair. The free health fair will be held Saturday, November 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 10030 Callabridge Ct., in the parking lot behind Walmart.

Dr. Ladner will also be on hand to explain the benefits of chiropractic adjustments and offer tips for avoiding pain and injuries over the holiday season. She will have information about pain management treatments available at Omni Wellness Center, including Charlotte acupuncture.

"Many Charlotte back pain patients don't realize that there are safe and non-invasive alternatives to prescription painkillers and surgical care," said Dr. Ladner. "As a chiropractic physician, my goal is to educate the public about the benefits of chiropractic adjustments, and help patients understand all their treatment options for back pain and sciatica. The fair is also a wonderful opportunity to receive a free, spinal health screening."

According to Dr. Ladner, the holiday season is a time when many individual suffer a back injury. Improperly lifting heavy boxes filled with gifts or decorations, a slip and fall on an icy sidewalk while caroling, raking leaves or even setting up a Christmas tree can strain back muscles or cause a herniated disc injury.

"Nothing puts a damper on seasonal celebrations like a back or neck injury, especially if these injuries lead to chronic pain, like sciatica," said Dr. Ladner. "With proper precautions, many of these injuries can be avoided. If individuals are injured, prompt care from a chiropractor is essential to diagnosing the underlying injury so chronic pain can be avoided."

The health fair will also include free blood pressure, cholesterol, vision, hearing, fitness and dental health screenings, as well as information on CPR. Families are invited to bring their children to enjoy the special "kid's corner," the bouncy house, free refreshments and live entertainment.

There will also be door prizes furnished by local businesses, including a one month free gym membership.

"We encourage the entire family to come out and join in the fun!" said Dr. Ladner.

In addition to chiropractic adjustments and acupuncture for back pain and sciatica relief, Dr. Ladner also provides nutrition counseling, laser therapy, orthotics and weight loss counseling.
