Chiropractor Provides All-Natural Treatment for Mooresville Sports Injury Patients

MOORESVILLE, NC--(Marketwire - Feb 15, 2012) - Advanced Health and Chiropractic in Mooresville, North Carolina announced that the practice provides treatment for sports injuries. These include a slipped or herniated disc injury as well as soft tissue injuries that cause shoulder pain and knee pain. The practice's chiropractor, Dr. Ryan Robinson, has treated over 20,000 patients since 2000. He uses a variety of adjustment techniques to restore proper alignment to the musculoskeletal system. Dr. Robinson's wellness center serves the Lake Norman, Cornelius, Troutman and Statesville communities.

Mooresville patients who have sustained a sports injury have a new treatment option that does not rely on medication or surgery. Chiropractor Dr. Ryan Robinson announced that his practice has successfully treated thousands of patients for common sport injuries, including neck pain, back pain and elbow pain.

"When patients need to heal quickly and safely following a sports injury, they come to our wellness center," Dr. Robinson said. "Chiropractic adjustment is essential to restoring proper alignment to the body after an injury. Whether a patient has suffered a herniated disc or a soft tissue tear, our all-natural treatments are an important component of a successful recovery."

Dr. Robinson emphasizes the importance of restoring proper alignment to the musculoskeletal system. He follows a whole body approach to injury recovery to identify and treat the underlying cause for injury.

"Our goal is to help each patient get off the sidelines and get back in the game as quickly and safely as possible," Dr. Robinson said. "Chiropractic adjustments are essential to achieving this goal. Rather than simply covering up pain with medication, adjustments allow us to correct the actual problem. This helps the body heal faster, while also reducing the risk for future injury."

In addition to correcting alignment, Dr. Robinson also helps treat soft tissue injuries that cause inflammation, stiffness and soreness. These injuries can also lead to a restricted range of motion, and make simple activities, like turning the body or walking up the stairs, incredibly challenging.

"When the body is injured, it naturally compensates for this injury by restricting its normal range of motion to prevent additional pain," Dr. Robinson said. "Corrective care exercises promote healing while safely restoring flexibility, coordination and movement."

Dr. Daniel Zagst, a chiropractic physician who recently joined Advanced Health and Chiropractic, works closely with Dr. Robinson to treat sports injuries. Dr. Zagst helps patients to regain lost mobility through myofascial release technique (MRT), flexion/distraction, and instrument assisted soft tissue massage. These treatments help promote the flow of fresh, oxygenated blood into the soft tissues, which flushes out toxins and speeds internal healing. According to Dr. Zagst, this helps to break up the scar tissue that exacerbates pain and blocks proper healing.

In addition to treating sports injuries, Dr. Robinson also provides on-going preventative care for active patients.

"Whether you're an avid athlete or just go for the occasional run, regular adjustments help maintain proper alignment and reduce the risk for injury," Robinson said. "In fact, many of our patients find that they are better athletes with regular treatment."
