Chordiant Releases the Latest in Disputes & Chargebacks

New Software Release Empowers Agents to Quickly Resolve Credit Card Disputes

CUPERTINO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 11, 2006 --Chordiant Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHRD), the leading provider of Customer Experience (Cx™) software and services, today announced significant enhancements to its Disputes & Chargebacks solution. This unique process-driven offering enables card issuers to significantly reduce operating costs through guided dispute process interactions and workforce optimization. Chordiant Disputes & Chargebacks now eliminates many of the complexities of credit card disputes.

Complex dispute processes carry some of the highest risks for businesses. By orchestrating the entire dispute and chargeback process from initiation through resolution, Chordiant Disputes & Chargebacks eliminates unnecessary write-offs and improves customer satisfaction. In addition, the Chordiant solution provides a structure to support the association rule changes that each issuing or acquiring member is required to use, depending on association membership

The software guides users through multifaceted transactions, resulting in significant first call resolution. For example, straight-through process capabilities allow disputes such as unauthorized transactions and card-not-present errors to be automatically processed through the first chargeback stage without back office intervention. Chordiant Disputes & Chargebacks now includes a wealth of new capabilities that enable agents to:

-- View details of a transaction before beginning the actual dispute
    process
-- Interact with the customer while recording and verifying details for a
    disputed transaction
-- Capture a dispute requiring additional information
-- Request supporting documentation from the customer, acquirer, and card
association whenever it is required during the dispute process
-- Receive any requested supporting documents and attach it to the
    associated dispute transaction.
-- Assess a dispute and generate a chargeback to an acquirer
-- Review a re-presentment submitted by the acquirer and determine
whether it is valid or if it should be sent for pre-arbitration or
    arbitration chargeback
-- Manually close disputes that are not automatically completed by the
    system

"Our latest release empowers agents to quickly ascertain and resolve disputes, vastly reducing the need to transfer cases to back office specialists," said Steve Springsteel, president and chief executive officer. "By guiding agents through complex decision making processes, expertise can be shifted to the front office, resulting in the majority of incoming disputes being resolved during the first point of contact. The result is more efficient operations and higher levels of service."
