Chordiant Software Promotes James St. Jean to Vice President of Worldwide Engineering

CUPERTINO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 21, 2005 -- Chordiant Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHRD), the solutions leader in automating and managing operational business processes for leading service-driven organizations, today announced it has promoted James (Jim) St. Jean to vice president of worldwide engineering. In his new position, he will report to Stephen Kelly, Chordiant CEO.

In making the announcement, Stephen Kelly said, "Jim has provided important leadership for Chordiant in defining and executing on our applications strategy, bringing to market our first browser-based product, Branch Advisor, followed by our next generation call-center product. Most recently, Jim has led Chordiant's vertical applications initiative starting with credit cards. He has also contributed significantly to growing Chordiant's applications division from eight developers to over 75 people worldwide, he leads our internal patent committee, and has provided important leadership in the Prime Response acquisition and most recently the KiQ acquisition and integration of its Amsterdam development center."

St. Jean joined Chordiant in 2000 when the company he formed in 1999 (White Spider) was acquired by Chordiant. Before his promotion, St. Jean served as Chordiant's vice president of applications and before that as vice president of design and architecture. From 1997 to 1999, he was vice president and chief architect of Vantive Corporation. Prior to that, he was one of the founders of Innovative Computer Concepts (ICC) in 1994. At ICC he served in several management positions including director of development and vice president of development. ICC was acquired by Vantive in 1997. Before that time, St. Jean served in various development, development management and project management roles with Raytheon Corporation and Lockheed Corporation.

St. Jean holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of New Hampshire.
