Chorus Aims for the Clouds With Sigma Systems

Sigma's Enterprise Product Management Improves the Product Life-Cycle Management Process

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - Oct 15, 2013) - Sigma Systems, the leader in catalog-driven service fulfillment solutions that enable Idea-to-Install, today announced New Zealand's largest telecommunications infrastructure company, Chorus, has successfully moved their product management operations into the cloud, with Sigma Systems' Enterprise Product Management (EPM).

"Chorus has been investigating ways to best introduce a new PLM framework since it de-merged from Telecom in 2011," said Chorus Senior Product Marketing Manager, Mandy Tait. "The Sigma EPM has allowed us to effectively manage our product information throughout the transition and has become the key enabler for our implementation of PLM. We have been surprised and delighted by the speed and ease in which we have been able to quickly implement EPM into the cloud. The seamless move has given our project team the freedom to concentrate on delivering agile, quality PLM processes, and not worry about setting up new infrastructure."

"As the pioneer in Idea-to-Install, Sigma is helping to improve the conception, management and rollout of new products for communications service providers, media and high tech companies," said Tim Spencer, President and Chief Operating Officer, Sigma Systems. "Enterprise Product Management, a key element in Sigma's product portfolio, helps companies to dramatically improve their product life-cycle management process. It now also delivers additional benefits through a high performance, globally scalable cloud platform leveraging Microsoft Azure."

C. Dewey Forrester Jr., Senior Director at Microsoft, said, "We are excited to see the momentum the Enterprise Product Management solution has gained by leveraging the powerful and flexible Microsoft Windows Azure platform. Windows Azure is an open and flexible cloud platform that enables ISVs to quickly build, deploy and manage applications across a global network of Microsoft-managed datacenters."

Sigma Systems' New Zealand delivery partner Practiv has led the project to seamlessly transfer Chorus away from its legacy infrastructure and onto the EPM in the Cloud platform.
