Chris Marentis Joins FortiusOne

Veteran Web Industry Executive Appointed President and COO and Joins Board of Directors

ARLINGTON, VA--(Marketwire - December 11, 2007) - FortiusOne, a leader in next-generation Intelligent Mapping solutions that make the World's geographic data accessible to everyone for learning, decision making, and problem solving, announced that Chris Marentis is joining the executive team as President, COO, and member of the Board of Directors. Marentis brings an impressive track record of success in various executive roles, leveraging cutting edge technology with large market applications. His extensive experience, depth of knowledge, and industry contacts will help FortiusOne build on its momentum in the Web mapping market.

"With disruptive core technologies, a visionary team, and solid traction, FortiusOne has all the makings of a company that can win big in the next evolution of the Web," said Marentis. "I'm thrilled to be here and look forward to helping make it happen."

Chris Marentis has extensive executive level experience with premier media, marketing, and Internet companies, including stints as founder and CEO of Retail Sports Television and as a senior executive at AOL. At AOL, he was responsible, at various times, for interactive marketing products and business development. Most recently, Chris was CEO of Clearspring, a leading Web 2.0 syndicated content provider, where he remains an advisor and investor.

"With the rapid advance of Web computing, social networking, and semantic knowledge management technologies, there is an explosion of data to be tapped by the Web as a computing utility," said Sean Gorman, CEO and founder of FortiusOne. "The geospatial market is one of the first areas to experience this phenomenon, and our unique Intelligent Mapping solutions that make data accessible and easy to use are getting great traction. Chris is the right guy to take us to the next level."

FortiusOne was spun out of George Mason University in 2005 by a group of recognized experts in complexity science, large-scale data analysis, and public policy. The emergence of Web mapping and other Web 2.0 innovations inspired FortiusOne to invent new technologies to address the limitations of traditional analytic tools and the challenges in finding adequate data to solve real-world problems. Joined by successful pioneers from the networking, Web services, and social networking markets, FortiusOne pursues its mission to make the World's data accessible and easy to use.

"We are very excited to have Chris join our FortiusOne team," said Cole Van Nice, partner at Chart Venture Partners. "His previous success at building innovative new Web businesses is a great fit for us, as we continue to grow our government beach head and expand into commercial and consumer markets."
