Chris Pine talks getting into fights on and off set - and how destructive social media can be in interview with Kjersti Flaa for Star Trek Beyond.

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - July 26, 2016) - Star Trek Beyond actor Chris Pine tells Norwegian reporter Kjersti Flaa about his fascination with India Jones growing up - and how he appreciates the characters that keeps getting hit, but always comes back.

"I liked Harrison Ford because it looked like he was about to get hurt all the time, and Bruce Willis always looked like he had the sh*t kicked out of him at some point" Pine says, and explains:

"There is something much more interesting to me with fallible human beings than superheroes, you know."

The Hollywood star has been in fights in real life too.

"Its not fun. Not enjoyable. My good friend Seth would always be getting into fights. He is such a barroom brawler."

He laughs.

"I am the voice of reason for my friends, I think."

Pine is playing Captain Kirk for the third time in a Star Trek -movie. The good-looking actor is not on social media himself, but he finds it worrisome how much it makes people focus on beauty and looks.

"Beauty has always been talked about and lauded. I think what you are seeing now is a compounded need to be beautiful with all of social media. A great deal of social media is about is: Look at me how pretty am I? How many people like me for being pretty?"

Star Trek Beyond is playing in theatres now. Pine is about to shoot Wonder Woman which is coming out in 2017.
