Christian Brothers Auto Repair Franchise Expanding in Charlotte Area

Auto Repair Franchise Brings Stores, Franchise Opportunity to Wichita

CHARLOTTE, NC--(Marketwired - Dec 3, 2014) - Texas-based auto repair franchise Christian Brothers Automotive is about to open its fourth store in the Charlotte area, and the fifth is scheduled to open in the summer -- a remarkable feat for a brand that made its North Carolina debut in 2013.

The newest location belongs to Colleen Manno, a single mom who became a Christian Brothers Automotive customer while living in Texas. Her store is scheduled to open Dec. 15 at 16618 Old Statesville Road in Huntersville.

The fifth store will be in Indian Trail. Christian Brothers is constructing the building while searching for a franchise partner for the business. It's part of an energetic national expansion for Christian Brothers Automotive, which has been named the top automotive franchise for three years in a row by Franchise Business Review, which tracks franchisee satisfaction. The 18-year-old franchise system has more than 130 locations nationwide and expects to open 20 more in 2015. It has never closed a location.

Meet two local owners
Manno says she was a decadelong Christian Brothers customer because the business treated her so well.

"I was so entranced with the way they ran their business and the way they treated their customers," Manno said of her experience as a customer in Texas. "The owner of the local Christian Brothers was shuttling me back and forth to work. I really appreciated that, because it's always difficult to try to get a car repaired and get back to work. I asked him, 'Why do you do this? Are you Christian people? What is it like?' ... He wasn't doing it just to make money. He wanted to be part of the community and provide a service. And he wanted to be honest and ethical when providing that service."

When her previous employer was purchased by a larger corporation, she decided to research franchise opportunities. She was attracted to Christian Brothers' track record of success and its commitment to providing a "nice difference" for customers who aren't used to great experiences at auto repair businesses.

She thinks that her businesses being woman-owned will surprise some customers.

Jade Stanford is another local Christian Brothers Automotive owner. His business is at 9725 Harris Road in Concord, and he moved here from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to open the store.

While Manno is new to the automotive industry, Stanford ran an automotive shop in Louisiana before becoming a Christian Brothers franchisee.

"They have a solid business model, and they truly support franchise owners," he said. "The tools that they provide to run your business are exemplary. The training is thorough and comprehensive.
