Christian Children's Fund of Canada Asks Canadians to Support Emergency Relief for the Philippines

MARKHAM, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Nov. 13, 2013) - In response to Typhoon Haiyan - one of the most devastating typhoons ever to hit land in the Philippines - Christian Children's Fund of Canada is asking Canadians for help.

"On November 8th, Typhoon Haiyan caused catastrophic damage in the area of Leyte province. More than 10,000 people are believed to have died. More than 620,000 are displaced from their homes. Millions more are affected. We are appealing to the generosity of Canadians to join the international relief effort to support the Philippines. Please, give what you can," said Mark Lukowski, Chief Executive Officer, Christian Children's Fund of Canada (CCFC).

CCFC, a registered Canadian charity, is urging Canadians to visit www.ccfcanada.ca to donate. Ottawa will match every dollar donated by Canadians through the Typhoon Haiyan Relief Fund. This fund was announced by federal Minister of International Development, Christian Paradis this past weekend. Through the Typhoon Haiyan Relief Fund, Canadians can donate until December 9th."
