Christian Missions Better Connected Than Ever: ArkPages.com Provides Missionaries and Ministry Workers With Tools for Supporter Engagement & Fundraising

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL--(Marketwire - Aug 11, 2011) - A privately-held group of social entrepreneurs announces an open beta of ArkPages.com, a first of its kind mission-sharing and fundraising platform that makes missions more visible to the world, connects and unifies missionaries with one another in their work, and facilitates the giving of resources to the work being done around the world for Christ.

ArkPages.com was built to serve Christian missionaries and ministry workers who are responsible for their own fundraising, and was crafted for both long-term and short-term missionaries, including small church plants. Importantly, ArkPages.com is not affiliated with, or sponsored by, any one denomination, church, or sending organization. With a very clear Statement of Faith, ArkPages.com is a tool to help connect the world of missions.

Uniquely, ArkPages.com does not handle, nor at any time touch, the funds donated to its missionary members via the platform. Jason Reynolds, a senior staff member of the digital agency that built the ArkPages.com platform, points out that "Funds donated by supporters to missionaries using ArkPages are routed directly to the sending organization on behalf of the missionary, and never through ArkPages itself. This approach reinforces the spiritual and financial covering provided by the sender to the missionary."

ArkPages.com offers missionaries an option to password protect access to their ArkPage, so that only those who know the URL and password can gain access, if so desired. Most users of the system, however, are eager to share their ArkPage as broadly and publicly as possible. Ted and Jennifer Bertleson, a couple preparing to serve for the next 25 years with an urban poor team in Ethiopia, wrote in their first ArkPage post, "We are happy to transition to [ArkPages] since it will give us unlimited space for posting pictures and videos so that you can join us in what is truly a shared ministry. Also, with the integration of Facebook, Twitter and RSS into the site, we can stay in real-time communication with you even though we are half a world away."
