Christopher E. Kevane Promoted to Senior Vice President, General Counsel for Rural/Metro Corporation

SCOTTSDALE, AZ--(Marketwire - March 12, 2010) -  Rural/Metro Corporation (NASDAQ: RURL), a leading national provider of private ambulance and fire protection services, announced today that Christopher E. Kevane has been promoted to Senior Vice President and General Counsel.

Mr. Kevane, 36, has served as Managing Director and General Counsel since 2006, with increasing levels of responsibility related to key legal and business matters at all levels of the organization. In his new role, Mr. Kevane will oversee all legal matters relating to the Company, including enterprise-wide governance, regulatory matters and contracting. He will report directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer.

Prior to joining the Company in 2004, Mr. Kevane was an attorney with the international law firm of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey L.L.P., where his practice focused on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, securities regulation, including public and private securities offerings, as well as counseling clients on corporate governance. 

Mr. Kevane holds a Juris Doctor degree from Arizona State University's Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Arizona State University's W.P. Carey School of Business.
