Christopher Roman, an Authority on REITs, Joins King & Spalding

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Sep 28, 2011) - Christopher Roman has joined King & Spalding as a partner in its tax practice in New York City, the firm announced today. Roman has extensive experience in the tax issues associated with private equity fund formation and investment, real estate investment trusts and regulated investment companies. He joined King & Spalding from Clifford Chance, where he was a partner in its tax practice.

Roman also advises on the tax aspects of partnerships, mergers, acquisitions and capital markets transactions, representing issuing companies as well as underwriters. His REIT work also involves REIT securitization structures.

Roman received a J.D. degree from the University of Akron, an LLM degree from New York University and a B.S. degree from Indiana University. He is the chairman of the REIT committee of the American Bar Association and a member of the New York City Bar Association's committee on the taxation of business entities.
