Sundre-based, third generation chuckwagon legend Rae Croteau Jr., along with his sponsors TOMCO Group, Ranchman's and Nabors Production will be presenting a cheque to the Sheldon Kennedy Child Advocacy Centre Sunday at 5 pm Sunday July 13 after a hugely successful fundraising and awareness campaign during the Calgary Stampede. The campaign has already seen more than $10 000 raised with the hashtag #chucks4bucks and donations that have come in from the awareness generated. For every picture posted on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram of Croteau's #BadAssRainbow chuckwagon in action using the hashtag #chucks4bucks, Croteau, along with his sponsors TOMCO Group, Ranchman's, and Nabors Production will donated one dollar to the Sheldon Kennedy Child Advocacy Centre.

This is not Croteau's first philanthropic action during the Calgary Stampede. In 2013, Croteau donated part of his GMC Rangeland Derby winnings to the Calgary flood relief in 2013, which was matched by his tarp sponsor TOMCO Group of companies for a donation of $10 000.

"This year we went even bigger, engaging the crowd to help raise awareness of the cause," says Croteau. "We really wanted the cause itself to be the focus and the awareness we generated for the Child Advocacy Centre has been amazing."

The campaign saw mentions and posts from the official accounts of the Calgary Flames, the Washington Capitals and many more NHL players and local Calgary celebrities.

Tomco President, Wes Tomyn states, "We are really excited about how so many people supported the initiative and helped to raise awareness for the cause and the Sheldon Kennedy Centre."

"We are honoured to be chosen as the recipient of this campaign," says Sheldon Kennedy. "The Croteau race team and sponsors even took the time to come and tour our centre, really learning about the cause and generating as much awareness as they could. We appreciate all of the time and effort they have all put into this."

So far, during this year's races, Croteau won his heat both Day 7 and 8. Friday, Day 8, Croteau had the fastest time overall with a 1:09.92.

Media are invited to the #badassrainbow barn (W4) Sunday at 5 pm for the official cheque presentation. Sheldon Kennedy, Rae Croteau Jr and representatives from the sponsors will be in attendance and available for interview.
