Chugulu Brings Hit Music Quiz Game TriviaTunes to North America

Top App in France Now Available in the US and UK App Store

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - March 9, 2011) - French app developer Chugulu has announced that TriviaTunes, the first ever multiplayer music-trivia party game on iOS, has launched in the United States. Originally launched in France where it remains a top application in the iTunes store, TriviaTunes allows you to play by yourself or with up to four friends, testing your music knowledge on a variety of playlists.

Here's how it works -- Players stream music from themed TriviaTunes playlists within the app, racing against the friends or the buzzer to correctly identify the song's artist and title for points. The player with the most points wins!

Additional TriviaTunes features include:

  • A complimentary playlist allowing players to discover the game with diverse music hits
  • Regular updates with new volumes of music. These 100 song playlists are available by musical genre at a price of $1.99 each.
  • Genres include: rock, oldies, Top 40, country, hip hop and many more
  • Playlists scale in difficulty depending on players' knowledge
  • Can be played alone or with up to 4 players on the same iPhone/iPod Touch
  • Players compete with published scores both against friends and on global ladders through OpenFeint
  • Several modes of play:
    • "Timer" mode where the first to buzz with the correct answer wins
    • "MCQ" mode where multiple choice answers are proposed and as the time runs out the wrong answers disappear for a lower score
    • "Expert" mode for experienced players, who will enter answers using the iPhone keyboard

The application is free to download and includes a free 50-song playlist to allow users to discover the game. Players can then purchase 100-song playlists (genres include TV Shows, Pop-Rock, and Rap, among others) in-app at $1.99 each.
