Churchill Club Presents: Scott McNealy in Conversation With Ed Zander

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - February 17, 2011) - The Churchill Club, Silicon Valley's premier business and technology forum, today announced its evening event, "Scott McNealy in Conversation with Ed Zander." The event offers a unique opportunity to hear Scott McNealy, co-founder and former chairman and CEO of Sun Microsystems, in a candid and personal conversation with Ed Zander, former chairman and CEO of Motorola and past president of Sun, about the legacy of Sun, the changing industry, our connected world and more.

The event coincides with the 29th anniversary of Sun's founding on Feb. 24, 1982. The company has pioneered workstations, software, open source, network computing and was a forerunner for many of the advances we take for granted today, including mobile and cloud computing. Sun's mission of "the network is the computer" 29 years ago, holds true today in everything we do from connecting with friends, searching the internet and tweeting around the globe. Last year Oracle acquired Sun for over $7 billion.

Zander, who has played a critical role in the evolution of the tech industry, will be interviewing McNealy, who led Sun for 22 years. McNealy will be sharing his views on a range of topics including the global economy, empowering employees, education and privacy. Churchill Club Board Chair, PwC managing director of emerging company services Steve Bengston and Zach Nelson, CEO of NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N) -- one of the more than 75 CEOs that emerged from Sun -- will kick off the evening.
