CIDA/Media Advisory: Parliamentary Secretary Torsney to Speak at a Celebration of the United Nations 60th Anniversary

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 26, 2005) - The Honourable Paddy Torsney, Parliamentary Secretary to the Honourable Aileen Carroll, Minister of Intenational Cooperation, will deliver the keynote speech to mark the 60th Anniversary of the UN on Thursday, October 27th in Ottawa. Ms. Torsney will talk about Canada's important relationship with the UN.

To celebrate this milestone, UNA-Canada, in partnership with the Canadian International Development Agency, is organizing a number of activities and events to engage its partners and their constituencies in various regions across Canada.

UNA-Canada is a national charitable organization established in 1946 mandated to engage the
Canadian public in the work of the United Nations and the critical international issues.
