Cincinnati Bell Joins Psion Teklogix' Ascent Plus Partner Program

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 26, 2005) -

New partnership will enable Cincinnati Bell to deliver complete mobile computing solutions to its entire business customer base

Psion Teklogix (LSE:PON), a global provider of solutions for mobile computing, wireless data collection, imaging and RFID, today announced Cincinnati Bell (NYSE:CBB) has joined Psion Teklogix' Ascent Plus Partner Program. The new partnership allows Cincinnati Bell to sell Psion Teklogix' complete range of mobile computing solutions through its direct sales team. In addition, under the agreement, Cincinnati Bell will also offer wireless bundles for the Psion Teklogix WORKABOUT PRO product line and NETBOOK PRO to operate on its EDGE and GPRS wide area networks.

Both organizations have a large presence in the tri-state area of Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky and this partnership brings together the local synergies and customer collaboration capabilities between Psion Teklogix and Cincinnati Bell.

The new wireless bundles for the Psion Teklogix WORKABOUT PRO and NETBOOK PRO models combine a wireless PC card to give mobile workers wide area wireless access. The offerings provide the flexibility and durability required for mobile data collection in many different areas including retail sales, route accounting, field service, supply chain and logistics. These new wireless bundles help mobile employees to collect and interact with data at their point of work leading to increased worker productivity, more efficient operations and greater customer service.

"Psion Teklogix has a great history of providing complete rugged mobile computing solutions for the supply chain, logistics and mobile computing industries and we are excited about leveraging their extensive industry knowledge," said Dwayne Emerson, director of wireless business marketing and technology planning, Cincinnati Bell. "As a member of the Psion Teklogix Ascent Plus Partner Program, we are looking forward to providing Psion Teklogix' mobile computing solutions to our GPRS wide area network customers."

The Psion Teklogix Ascent Plus Partner Program offers partners a comprehensive set of program benefits designed to help grow their business. For qualified partners, the program also provides support and funding to develop innovative, application-specific solutions to match their customers' unique mobile computing requirements in targeted vertical markets. Benefits of membership include marketing support, dedicated sales support, customized training, priority service and support, and full access to Psion Teklogix' Teknet extranet.

"Having Cincinnati Bell join the Psion Teklogix Ascent Plus Partner Program represents a significant foothold for Psion Teklogix to expand its overall presence in the Midwest U.S.," said Rob Douglas, president, Psion Teklogix Americas. "The new partnership not only enables us to provide our devices to customers who require wide area network access or WLAN access but also offers a variety of new vertical opportunities through Cincinnati Bell's sales network."

The NETBOOK PRO is a high-performance clamshell mobile computer that combines the virtues of the PDA - size, battery life, low support costs, lighter weight, touch screen and instant-on capabilities - with the benefits of a laptop: large screen, expansion, connectivity flexibility and a full keyboard. The WORKABOUT PRO is a rugged hand-held computer with the power to run advanced applications to meet the needs of the enterprise user. It delivers reliable performance in harsh environments, and is able to withstand multiple drops from a height of four feet onto concrete. Psion Teklogix offers both a Hardware Development Kit (HDK) and Software Development Kit (SDK) for the WORKABOUT PRO bundle, making it easy for third-party developers of custom solutions to download information they require from the Psion Teklogix Developers Resource site. The wireless bundle for the NETBOOK PRO includes a Software Development Kit (SDK).
