First Bosch Service Center in Costa Rica Creates up to 300 jobs; Focus on Finance, Accounting and Technical Support Services for the Bosch Group in North America

SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA--(Marketwired - Sep 23, 2015) - Bosch Service Solutions, a leading supplier of Business Process Outsourcing, expands its global network with the opening of its first business service center in Costa Rica on September 23th. The site will provide business support in finance, accounting and technical operations for the Bosch Group in North America as well as technical support for Bosch external customers. It is expected to create up to 300 jobs by the end of 2016.

The setup of the new service center will increase Bosch Service Solutions' international footprint. "Opening our first branch in Costa Rica expands our international reach to four locations across the Americas, a strategic growth market in which we want to establish ourselves among the leading international suppliers of business process solutions," explains Robert Mulatz, Senior Vice President of Bosch Service Solutions.

The Bosch service center will be located in Heredia, at America Free Zone north of the capital San José, and is part of the greater metropolitan area. "Heredia, with its state of the art infrastructure and high availability of quality talents prepared with linguistic diversity at an excellent level, will provide a good operational basis," says Paulo Maia, General Manager of Robert Bosch Service Solutions in Costa Rica on the occasion of the opening. The new service center will provide services in the finance area for general accounting and financial reporting, accounts payables and receivable management, travel and expense management, general ledger and fixed assets accounting for the Bosch Group in North America. Bosch Service center will also provide technical support for Bosch security and communication products for the North America market. Initially it will offer its services in Spanish and English.

The President of Costa Rica, Luis Guillermo Solís, expressed his satisfaction with the announcement. "We welcome the decision of Bosch to establish a shared services operation in Costa Rica. This showcases the recognition of international investment about the opportunities to grow in the country, which translate in quality employments and will benefit both parts."

On the occasion of the opening, the Minister of Foreign Trade, Alexander Mora, expressed being pleased with the news: "The opening of Bosch's new Service Center is certainly excellent news, with positive implications for the generation of quality jobs for our people. We welcome the decision of the company and appreciate Bosch's confidence in the country. Bosch is confirming, once again, we are a very attractive place for business process outsourcing and not in vain we remain outstanding as the first destination in Latin America and the eleventh in the world in this field; it is a very strong track record. We applaud your effort and wish you success in your management," he said.

Jorge Sequeira, the Manager Director of CINDE, a Costa Rican investment promotion agency, said on the occasion of the opening: "Bosch joins the list of more than 120 companies that exist in the area of corporate services, today being the fourth German company in this sector in Costa Rica. Free zone exports related to information technology in 2014 accounted for US $ 2,253 million, representing 65% of total exports of services, demonstrating the dynamism of the industry. In addition, 50% of the jobs created in free zones in the same year also came from this sector. For Costa Rica and its human talent it is of vital importance that renowned companies like Bosch trust our country to grow their global operations."

To commemorate this important milestone of the service center opening and following company social responsibility, the Bosch Community Fund has made a contribution of US $ 10,000 to the Costa Rican Omar Dengo Foundation (OD). These funds will be earmarked to support the joint venture between the OD Foundation and the Ministry of Education in integrating technology into Costa Rican schools. Projects include for example curriculum, coding, robotics and equipment. The Foundation focuses on grade 9 education with a couple of exceptions and some projects at the pre-school level and some work in vocational education in grades 10-12.
