Cinemas, Theatres, Sports Venues Offered 'Backstage' Resources via Woofers for Warriors

Commercial Sized Audio Helps Environment, Provides for Military Veterans

ST. LOUIS, MO--(Marketwired - Jun 9, 2015) - Spectra Audio Systems announced the launch of their new nation-wide charity program, Woofers for Warriors, benefiting military veterans and the environment. The program offers free pickup of outdated sound equipment for recycling, employment of able-bodied veterans, and an incentive donation of up to $2,000 to local charities to benefit wounded soldiers in the name of the equipment donors.

Staple community entertainment hubs like movie theaters and sports venues upgrade their equipment to deliver the best sound quality and to stay up to date with the latest technology. "Discarding obsolete audio equipment pollutes the environment with toxic heavy metals and adds to nearly 2.5 million tons of electronic landfill waste every year, a common practice we help avoid," says Tim Kresko, Founder of Spectra Audio Systems. Kresko co-developed the Woofers for Warriors programs to pick up such equipment and recycle it free of charge.

The environment isn't the only benefactor of the program. Able-bodied veterans are hired to haul the equipment away for recycling and with each pick-up, a cash donation is given towards charities for disabled veterans in the given donors name. James Deskin, a military veteran, has been working as a contractor with Spectra for a number of years before spearheading the Woofers For Warriors program. Mr. Deskin states, "As both a veteran and a father of a recovering wounded soldier, this is a project I hold very dear. Helping improve the lives of those injured in combat while at the same time helping to save the environment provides heart-warming purpose."

The Woofers For Warriors program is seeking participants nationwide. Strategic alliances are being sought with companies such as Daktronics, AVI-SPL, Solotech, Regal Entertainment Group, AMC Entertainment, Cinemark Theatres, Carmike Cinemas, Marcus Theatres, and B&B Theatres.
