Cineplex Entertainment Announces Fall Classic Film Series


TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 12, 2012) - Cineplex Entertainment (TSX:CGX) today announced the fall line-up for its Classic Film Series presentations. Front Row Centre Events' Classic Film Series showcases films that, in most cases, have never before been seen in digital format on the big screen. This fall's titles include:

See Boris Karloff on the big screen as the original Frankenstein (1931) followed by Bela Lugosi in Dracula (1931). Prior to the films, Turner Classic Movies host Robert Osborne will treat audiences to exclusive interviews recorded at this year's TCM Classic Film Festival.

Joining him will be Karloff's daughter, Sara, along with Bela Lugosi, Jr., the son of the classic Dracula star, and Academy Award winning make-up artist, Rick Baker. All three will talk about classic horror movies and how legendary icons like Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi helped define the genre.

Lawrence of Arabia

One of the most influential films in history returns to the silver screen with the Lawrence of Arabia 50th Anniversary Event. The film was meticulously restored by Sony Pictures Entertainment in from the original 65mm negative. This special event features an exclusive introduction from Lawrence of Arabia star and Academy Award® nominee, Omar Sharif. The event will include newsreel footage of the New York premiere as stars arrive on the red carpet, as well as footage of King Hussein of Jordan visiting the film set in Aqaba where he met David Lean, Sam Spiegel and Peter O'Toole. Academy Award® winning Director Martin Scorsese (Best Director, The Departed, 2006) will also discuss the overarching themes of Lawrence of Arabia and its influence on other iconic films.
