Cinsay Obtains Another U.S. Patent Grant for Hot Spots and Supplemental Information Within Video eCommerce Technology

Cinsay Receives Additional U.S. Patent Entitled 'Method and System for Generation and Playback of Supplemented Videos' Featuring Hot Spot Technology

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwired - Sep 21, 2015) - Cinsay, Inc., the global leader in social video commerce technology for web and mobile, was granted, on August 18, 2015, another strategic U.S. patent for 'Method and System for Generation and Playback of Supplemented Videos,' U.S. Patent No. 9,113,214. The IP technology is another component to Cinsay's video commerce platform as it relates to using hot spots in a video to provide additional information about products or services. This newest patent is one for Cinsay's video technology, which enables merchants of any type of business to sell to consumers using shoppable videos. Consumers can make these purchases directly inside the video player embedded on any website, shared in email, on any blog and inside some of the largest social media networks worldwide, including China's.

Patent No. 9,113,214 for a "Method and System for Generation and Playback of Supplemented Videos": Information corresponding to a hot spot associated with a video is displayed in response to the hot spot being invoked. The information corresponds to one or more products or services displayed in the video. Instructions are dynamically provided to or obtained by a device that displays the video from a location remote from the device. One portion of the instructions identifies the one or more products or services associated with the hot spot and is transmitted to or received at the device through a common channel as the video. Another portion of the instructions obtains the information corresponding to the one or more products or services and is transmitted to or received at the device through a different channel. The instructions cause the device to display the hot spot in a manner invisible to a user, and the different portions of the instructions originate from different servers.
