Cirtas Systems Named a Finalist for the 2010 Red Herring 100 Global Awards

Maker of the Award Winning Bluejet Cloud Storage Controller Recognized Among the World's Most Promising Private Technology Ventures

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - December 29, 2010) - Cirtas Systems, the first company to make cloud storage work like onsite enterprise storage arrays, today announced it has been selected as a finalist for the Red Herring 100 Global Award, a prestigious list honoring the year's one hundred most promising private technology companies from around the world. Cirtas' Global 100 finalist designation follows the company being named to the Red Herring 100 North America in June, when it was recognized among the year's most promising technology startups in the region for its Bluejet Cloud Storage Controller technology.

"2010 was very difficult but extremely rewarding," said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. "Despite lingering effects of the global economic situation, there are many great companies producing truly innovative and amazing technologies, to the extent that we had a hard time narrowing the pool and selecting the finalists. Cirtas shows great promise and therefore deserves to be among the finalists. Now we're faced with the difficult task of selecting the winners of the top 100 Global Award."

Finalists for the 100 Global were selected by the Red Herring editorial team from a pool of 1200 companies from around the world -- all finalists of its Red Herring Asia, Europe and North America Awards. The companies were evaluated on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, technology innovation, quality of management, execution of strategy, and integration in their respective industries. Finalists are also judged on their technological innovation, management strength, market size, investor record, customer acquisition, and financial health. This unique assessment of potential is complemented by a review of the actual track record and standing of a company, which allows Red Herring to see past the "buzz" and make the list an important instrument for discovering and advocating the greatest business opportunities in the industry.

"We are honored to be selected as a finalist for the Red Herring Global 100," said Dan Decasper, CEO and cofounder of Cirtas Systems. "Red Herring's recognition that Cirtas is among the world's most exciting technology companies underscores the innovation and value that our Bluejet technology offers enterprise organizations looking to simplify their storage environments and reduce associated costs, and serves to further validate Cirtas' position as the market leader in cloud storage enablement solutions."
