Cistera Networks Announces Win in Education Vertical Market

Cistera's GoVertical Education Solution Enhances Security at Texas University

DALLAS, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 10, 2006 -- (OTC BB: CNWT) Cistera Networks, a leading provider of advanced IP phone platforms and applications engines in the Enterprise VoIP Telephony environment, announced today product placement in the education vertical market. Cistera's GoVertical Education Solutions offer IP Telephony applications specifically designed to help schools from the pre-school to university level enhance communications, improve security and expand the learning experience.

Trinity University, located in San Antonio, Texas is an independent liberal arts and sciences university with 2,500 students. Trinity deployed a Cisco IPT solution across the entire campus including a Cisco 7960 phone in every dorm room, with each student being assigned a personal extension. They selected Cistera's popular enterprise application platform for IPT, the Cistera ConvergenceServer,™ and licensed QuickRecord™ to enable on demand recording of malicious or important calls, and RapidBroadcast™ for its capability of paging to the IP phones.

A security enhancement available with RapidBroadcast has proven especially valuable. When anyone dials 911 from a Cisco phone, campus security and the IT Director are automatically notified via their own IP phones at the same time as the San Antonio Police Department. All alerts include the dorm and extension location of the call's origination, which allows for immediate follow-up to provide assistance if needed.

According to Cynthia Littles, ITS Telecommunications Manager, Trinity is very pleased with the Cistera solutions, "The security enhancement is incredible, as response time is much faster," she said. "We use this feature every day. Security is a big issue for administrators, parents and students -- with this capability we feel that we are providing a best-in-class solution for everyone."

With applications that allow for simultaneous broadcasting to IP Phones and overhead speakers when the Cistera ZoneController™ is deployed, to ringing of school bells and delivery of standard broadcasts and emergency alerts, GoVertical Education Solutions address real-world requirements for schools. The Cistera ConvergenceServer is also the exclusive platform for PhoneTop® Applications for Education from Cistera’s InterpriseOne Technology Developer Partner, AAC, Inc. PhoneTop K-12 provides additional features designed for the education market.

The CisteraConvergenceServer and its robust suite of application engines for Cisco's CallManager and CallManagerExpress offers customers IPT applications that are easy to integrate and install. Cistera's applications deliver the functionality to enhance productivity and extend the capabilities of the IP Communications network. The CCS adds critical competency and features such as text and audio broadcasting, messaging, recording and content streaming within a Cisco Communications environment. Cistera ConvergenceServers can be configured to support small, medium and enterprise installations, and by linking multiple applications to CallManager and CallManagerExpress, they provide seamless integration of an IPT solution.
