CITEworld's Consumerization of IT in the Enterprise (CITE) Conference + Expo Announces Award Winners

FRAMINGHAM, MA--(Marketwired - Apr 29, 2014) - IDG's CITEworld -- the leading resource providing insight into the intersection of consumer technologies and the enterprise -- today announced the winners of the 2014 CITE Awards at the Consumerization of IT in the Enterprise (CITE) conference + expo in San Francisco.

The awards program highlights projects such as mobile apps, social collaboration, big data analysis and use of the cloud, and entries demonstrated the many ways that organizations are leveraging new technologies to serve their customers and employees and drive innovation. Consumer technologies are impacting all industries and the awards program attracted entries from pharmaceutical companies to state government, transportation and retailers, among others.

One winner was named in each of six categories, and special awards were given to two additional organizations, at an awards ceremony this morning. Senior IT executives had scored the pool of 33 finalists using specific criteria for each category.

"We were extremely impressed with the caliber of the finalists, especially those who devised creative solutions to bridge complicated legacy architectures to bring modern functionality to employees and customers," said Matt Rosoff, editorial director for the conference's companion news website CITEworld.com. "Often this required a cultural shift in the organization as well."

Business results were also a key factor. "Nearly all the finalists showed qualitative as well as quantitative returns on their projects," Rosoff said. "The competition was very close in many categories."
