City of Atlanta Picks Everbridge to Reliably Deliver Emergency Notifications to Residents

Atlanta Police Department's 911 Center Selects Everbridge to Send Location-Based Alerts to Residents During Emergencies and Severe Weather Events

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Dec 15, 2011) - Everbridge, Inc., the world's recognized leader in emergency and incident notification solutions, announced that the City of Atlanta's Police Department has selected Everbridge Aware™ and Everbridge SmartGIS™ to offer emergency and incident notification alerts to Atlanta residents sent by the city's 911 Center. Additionally, weather intelligence alerts from AccuWeather® AutoWarn™ for Everbridge will notify first responders if dangerous weather is approaching that may require an emergency alert to residents.

"I am excited to announce the addition of the Everbridge emergency and incident notification solution to the City's communications arsenal," said Atlanta's Chief of Police George Turner. "Keeping our citizens informed during critical events, both large and small, is a key part of our mission. The Everbridge system, with its unique capacity to dynamically scale communication resources, will allow us to respond to any situation."

"We are excited that the City of Atlanta has selected Everbridge because of our track record of reliably delivering incident communications, regardless of the size or scale of the crisis," said Jaime Ellertson, CEO of Everbridge. "With our elastic infrastructure model, we are able to deliver the best scale and performance in the industry. We look forward to serving the needs of the police department and the citizens of Atlanta."

New Citizen Web Portal Will Be Available To Register For Non-Emergency Alerts
Using a customized opt-in portal powered by Everbridge, Atlanta residents and businesses will be able to sign up for personalized alerts on topics they care about, as well as provide additional contact information, such as mobile phone numbers that are not included in traditional reverse 911 systems. The citizen alert sign up page is accessible from the Atlanta Police Department's web site at www.atlantapd.org.

Location-based Notifications Will Quickly Alert Residents Impacted By Emergencies
Everbridge SmartGIS is an interactive, map-based communication platform that reliably enables federal, state and local governments to contact thousands of people in a specific geographical region defined by zip code, street address, radius from a specific point, or latitude/longitude with life-saving information quickly and efficiently via all forms of communication, including landline phones, mobile phones, email, text messaging, instant messaging, pagers, fax, and more. Through the use of cloud-infrastructure technology, Everbridge is the first company to offer infinite elastic scalability and perfect resiliency of their emergency notification system. As an incident progresses and shifts location, such as during a car chase or a fire, Everbridge SmartGIS offers public safety officials the ability to easily identify and contact those in its path to keep people away from the affected areas. And to improve first responder's visibility into what is happening in their geography, AccuWeather's AutoWarn™ for Everbridge provides official automated weather watches based on a specific location.
