City of Montreal: It's Important to Vote! Extended Hours of Board of Revisors of the List of Electors of Montreal

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 21, 2005) - To help residents exercise their right to vote by making the board of revisors even more accessible, the returning officer for the city of Montreal is announcing an extension of the hours of the board of revisors of the list of electors. Initially scheduled to be held from October 2 to 5, the revision period will be extended until Thursday, October 6 inclusively, and the board of revisors will now sit for a total of 15.5 hours more than originally planned. Consequently, a new public notice of revision will appear this Saturday, September 24 in designated dailies.

A short delay in the mailing of notices of revision delivered to residential addresses prompted the returning officer to extend the schedule of the board of revisors.

Board of revisors of the list of electors

To be entitled to vote on November 6, 2005, one's name must appear on the list of electors. The onus is on the electors to ensure that they are properly entered on the list. To correct errors or omissions in the names or address appearing on the notice, electors must visit one of the 38 locations where the board of revisors will be sitting from October 2 to 6. The addresses are shown on the schedule to the notice of revision and appear in the public notice of revision published in September 21 newspapers.

Applications for entry, correction or striking off with the board of revisors must be filed in accordance with the new schedule shown below.

Sunday, October 2: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Monday, October 3: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Tuesday, October 4: 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Wednesday, October 5: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Thursday, October 6: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
