City of Mississauga Conducts Emergency Exercise

November 17, 2008 7 a.m. - 1 p.m.

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 10, 2008) - The City of Mississauga in partnership with the Region of Peel and Fielding Chemical Technologies Inc. will be conducting an emergency training exercise on the morning of Monday, November 17, 2008.

"The City holds annual exercises to practice roles in an emergency as well as work in cooperation with our partner agencies and businesses while fulfilling our requirements under provincial legislation," said Emergency Management Coordinator Catherine Blair. "Fielding Chemical is supporting us in this exercise as an industry partner. These exercises are a valuable learning tool and excellent training experience for all those involved. We regret any inconvenience the training may cause."

Exercise Details:

One northbound lane of Mavis Road between Central Parkway and Burnhamthorpe Road will be closed during the exercise. The exercise will take place at Fielding Chemical Technologies Inc. at 3549 Mavis Road. Emergency response vehicles including fire trucks, ambulances and police cars will be present as part of the training exercise.
