City of Surrey Set to Celebrate Canada Day

Member of Parliament Nina Grewal announces support for Canada Day activities in Surrey


SURREY, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - July 1, 2014) - Department of Canadian Heritage

Thanks to funding of $30,000 from the Celebrate Canada program, the City of Surrey will host Canada Day celebrations at the Bill Reid Amphitheatre.

This year's activities include musical entertainment by Canadian artists, a children's play area, family activities for all ages, and a fireworks display.

This funding was announced today by Nina Grewal, Member of Parliament (Fleetwood-Port Kells), on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

  • The City of Surrey's Canada Day celebrations are expected to draw an audience of 125,000.
  • This year's lineup of musical acts includes Canadian artists Matthew Good, Daniel Wesley, and Kyprios.
