Clean Energy Alliance Continues to Increase Membership

First-of-a-Kind Member Illustrates Value of CEA Membership

MAHWAH, NJ--(Marketwire - Apr 27, 2011) - Clean Energy Alliance, Inc. (CEA), the national association of clean energy business incubators, announced today that ACTION, the Association of Clean Technology Incubators of New England, has joined the organization. ACTION, currently comprising eight New England incubators, is the first association to join CEA.

"ACTION's entry into the Clean Energy Alliance represents a new aspect of the continuing expansion of CEA, founded in 2000 by DOE's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). It demonstrates the increasing scope and attractiveness of the value of CEA membership to those with interest in the renewable energy and cleantech sectors," said James F. Groelinger, CEA's Executive Director. He continued: "ACTION's involvement will provide it with an opportunity to keep abreast of clean energy incubation practices around the country and to be a conduit through which its members will perceive the value of membership -- and, I anticipate, take steps to also become CEA members themselves. It will also open up avenues through which CEA can offer, and gain from, a national perspective on ACTION's progress. In a sense, this is an extension of the concept of 'Think Globally, Act Locally!'"

Mr. Michael Ryan, ACTION's Executive Director, said: "I'm delighted to see ACTION become part of CEA. We expect CEA membership to provide ACTION with an efficient and effective means of engaging with national activities in the area of clean technology incubation 'best practices,' and will allow us the opportunity to draw attention to the innovative clean tech eco-system we are developing in New England. ACTION is enhancing the collaboration among New England Clean Technology incubators to strengthen the regional cluster, accelerate early stage company growth, and grow green jobs. Membership in CEA is a natural progression in our development and we look forward to partnering with other CEA members to support the growth of the clean technology community at large."
