NORTHAMPTON, MA--(Marketwired - December 15, 2016) - Officials with CleanSlate Centers, a leading multi-state provider of physician-led outpatient addiction treatment, announced today the addition of two leaders to their East Division executive team. Adam McPhee has joined CleanSlate as President of East Division Operations, and Wendy Welch will serve as the new Medical Director of the East Division.
McPhee will play a substantial role in coordinating clinical operations and developing operational plans to assure medical and logistical viability division-wide. He brings extensive experience and expertise in healthcare operations and strategic growth.
Before joining CleanSlate, McPhee served as Vice President of Operations for the US Healthworks' East Division. There, he oversaw the company's extensive growth, doubling the number of centers and increasing net revenue significantly thanks to a 17 percent increase in visit volumes. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Performance from Southern Connecticut State University.
"I am delighted that Adam has joined the CleanSlate team and am confident he will have an immediate impact on our team," said Greg Marotta, President and CEO of CleanSlate Centers. "Having someone with Adam's experience in acquisition integration, strategic planning, and operational leadership at the helm of our East Division will ensure our centers are positioned to provide the highest-quality, most cost-effective addiction services possible."
Welch joins the CleanSlate leadership from Beacon Health Options, where she served as Federal Vice President and Medical Director of the Jacksonville Engagement Center (JEC). Within her role at JEC, Welch was responsible for behavioral health clinical, quality, and utilization oversight for 3.3 million TRICARE beneficiaries in the South Region. She also served as Clerkship Director for Psychiatry at the Daytona campus of Florida State University College of Medicine, where she holds an academic appointment of Clinical Associate Professor.
"Wendy's addition to the CleanSlate team is part of our strategic effort to continue to invest in the success of our current centers and staff, while expanding access to our proven treatment approach in communities across the country," Marotta said. "Her diverse skill set, as well as her involvement on the American Society of Addiction Medicine's Payer Relations Committee, is tremendously valuable for our growing organization as we continue to provide high-quality care and form meaningful partnerships in the communities we serve."
More than two million Americans suffer from substance abuse disorders related to opioids. According to the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) -- the nation's leading addiction medicine society representing 3,700 physicians, clinicians and other professionals -- opioid addiction is defined as a primary, chronic and relapsing brain disease. The award-winning CleanSlate program of care includes individualized treatment plans for each patient consisting of appropriate medication treatment prescribed by physicians, clear accountability and supportive counseling.
CleanSlate currently provides care to patients in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Indiana. The company continues to forge partnerships with healthcare providers and health insurers to meet the growing demand for evidence-based addiction treatment options in communities across the country.
