Cleantech Canada Launches to National Audience

New publication covers sustainability and carbon management strategies for business

TORONTO, ONTARIO and EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Jan. 20, 2014) - Cleantech Canada, a new online publication focused on the clean technology sector, launched to nearly 90,000 business readers across the country in December.

The web site and weekly eNewsletter is set to become a top source of information on groundbreaking technologies and strategies for managing greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to climate change.

The project is made possible by the Alberta-based Climate Change and Emissions Management (CCEMC) Corporation, an independent organization with a mission to achieve sustainable reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and facilitate climate change adaptation.

"As the world continues to increase demand for fossil fuel-based energy, factored with the commitments many nations have made to hit climate change targets, it is imperative that we reduce greenhouse gas emissions," said CCEMC chair Eric Newell. "The solution rests with the development of transformative technology."

The launch edition of Cleantech Canada included a look at carbon capture and storage in Canada: http://tinyurl.com/px9rn2u and news on a breakthrough lead-free fuel for aviation: http://tinyurl.com/l8ckmej.

News and in-depth features in the publication will cover the latest updates on carbon emissions management, technology, regulation, finance, exporting opportunities and business sustainability.

Cleantech Canada was created by Business Information Group (BIG) and JuneWarren-Nickle's Energy Group (JWN), Canada's largest publishers of trade, energy and specialty business magazines.

The publication's editorial advisors include legal and climate change experts, sustainable business strategists and representatives from the manufacturing and energy sectors.

About the Climate Change & Emissions Management (CCEMC) Corporation

In April 2007, Alberta became the first jurisdiction in North America to pass climate change legislation requiring large emitters to reduce emissions. The CCEMC was created in 2009 to be a key part of Alberta's climate change strategy and movement toward a stronger and more diverse lower carbon economy. The CCEMC is an independent organization that supports and builds on the strategic direction established in Alberta's 2008 Climate Change Strategy. It provides funding for projects that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help Alberta adapt to climate change. See more at: http://www.ccemc.ca
