Clear Channel Invests in Infor EAM to Reduce Global Maintenance Costs

Infor EAM to Improve Reliability and Boost Productivity of Millions of Global Advertising Assets

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - December 13, 2010) - Infor, a leading provider of business application software serving over 70,000 customers, today announced that Clear Channel, the world's largest out-of-home advertising company, has invested in Infor EAM, to manage millions of assets across its global operations. The enterprise asset management solution will help to reduce maintenance costs, improve reliability and boost responsiveness in maintaining Clear Channel's wide portfolio of advertising channels, which range from static billboards and panels to bus stops and bicycles.

  • Infor EAM set to improve operational performance through coordinated management and maintenance of Clear Channel's assets in different business units.
  • Tighter processes instilled by Infor EAM will maximize productivity of Clear Channel's construction and maintenance workforce.
  • Clear Channel selected Infor EAM from a shortlist of five, based on breadth and depth of functionality, ease of use, value and flexibility.
  • Infor worked with Clear Channel to configure the solution to meet specific requirements, which include standardizing working processes and procedures and ensuring management information is delivered according to users' preferences.
  • Infor EAM will integrate with Clear Channel's existing ERP system to support the procurement and management of replacement stock required for effective asset management.
  • The solution replaces a wide range of disparate systems ranging from spreadsheets to large ERP suites across Clear Channel's global operations.
  • The first phase of the project is expected to go live in the middle of 2011 in France and the UK, before being deployed in other regions.

What Clear Channel Says

"Our asset base is complex, and each category has its own unique management requirements. Infor EAM will enable us to manage our assets efficiently, effectively and consistently, whether that's the construction of a bus stop, or routine maintenance of airport-based digital media," said Luc Van Bosstraeten, operations director at Clear Channel. "By consolidating all relevant asset information we will benefit from a benchmark from which to make improvements, and the ability to drive down costs and boost operational performance."

What We Say

"Manual processes or silo-based systems simply cannot effectively comprehend assets on this scale," said John Murphy, director, EAM Solution Management, Infor. "Infor EAM will provide Clear Channel with a live view of where assets are demanding surplus resources or costs, or alternatively not receiving sufficient attention. This in turn will prompt the appropriate teams to take action, boosting asset performance and generating a direct and positive impact on the bottom line."
