ClearStory Data Names Brian Zotter Vice President of Technology and Products

Salesforce.com Vice President of Engineering and Two-Time Company Founder Joins ClearStory Data to Lead Engineering and Products


PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwired - May 7, 2013) - ClearStory Data, a company delivering a new big data solution that makes it simple for business users to find, combine and interactively analyze data from corporate and disparate third-party sources, today announced that Brian Zotter has joined the company as vice president of technology and products. Zotter will lead the fast-growing engineering and product teams at ClearStory Data, reporting directly to CEO Sharmila Mulligan. Zotter was most recently vice president of engineering at Salesforce.com, founded 2 companies prior to that and holds 8 patents across various fields.

Zotter has 15+ years of engineering and product management experience building and delivering enterprise-class products. He joins ClearStory Data from Salesforce.com where he was vice president of engineering leading the development of Work.com and the Force.com platform. At Salesforce, Zotter built and managed teams in engineering, quality and program management and technical operations. Prior to Salesforce, he was a founder at Connectize and Boxcar Software, which was acquired by Documentum. Zotter has also held senior engineering roles at MobiTV, BEA Systems and EMC.

In addition to his experience leading dynamic engineering teams, Zotter is also the creator of the JSR-181 standard for Java, which enables easy definition of Java Web Services in a J2EE container. He holds eight PaaS, SaaS and multi-tenant related patents, including innovations in the fields of web services, content distribution and device abstraction. Zotter's patents have been used by industry leaders including Salesforce.com, BEA Systems and Oracle.
