ClearView Rebate and Federal Home Renovation Tax Credit Help Your Home Go Green

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - May 19, 2009) - Calgary homeowners are being given strong incentive to upgrade their home's heating and hot water systems. Calgary-based HVAC contractor ClearView is offering a $400 rebate for homeowners who complete a home energy assessment in conjunction with their participation in the federal government's ecoEnergy retrofit program. This rebate is being offered in conjunction with many other government programs.

The ecoEnergy retrofit is just one federal program that provides cash for energy-efficient upgrades to a home. Under this program - available until March 31, 2011 - homeowners must have a pre-retrofit energy assessment completed by a certified energy adviser. After they carry out their renovations, a post-retrofit assessment must also be done. The ClearView $400 rebate is designed to offset the costs of these home energy assessments.

Homeowners who are considering energy upgrades should act fast to take advantage of another program available, for a limited time, from the federal government. Homeowners who install a new high-efficiency furnace or water heater between January 27, 2009 and February 1, 2010 are eligible for a tax credit under the Canadian government's Home Renovation Tax Credit program.

Available for the 2009 tax year, the credit applies to eligible expenditures between $1,000 and $10,000. The maximum credit is $1,350. Many home improvements are eligible, including new furnaces and water heaters.

Further incentives are available from the province of Alberta. Through Climate Change Central, the province is offering up to $500 in rebates for the installation of a new high-efficiency furnace.

ClearView has been providing high-quality HVAC services to Calgary and area for over twenty years. The company's technicians have special expertise in evaluating a home's heating needs, and in installing and servicing high-efficiency heating and air conditioning systems.
