Clearwater Lodge at the Pit River Lures Guests With 2010 Season Fly Fishing & Golf Packages

Lodge's Five Specials Designed for Beginners and Advanced Anglers

FALL RIVER MILLS, CA--(Marketwire - March 10, 2010) -   Clearwater Lodge at the Pit River, a historic, full-service fly fishing destination in northeastern California and an Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing Lodge, announces five guided fly fishing, golf and combination packages available through the 2010 fly fishing season. These weekend and midweek packages provide a range of options for anglers and golfers.

Clearwater Lodge's fly fishing guides are experienced, enthusiastic anglers and can take guests to the well-known and even hidden fishing spots of the lodge's home waters, which include California's great protected trout rivers and spring-fed stillwaters. When not on the water, guests can head to the nearby Fall River Valley Golf and Country Club, an 18-hole course designed by Clark Glasson and frequently rated one of California's favorite courses.

For a weekend getaway of fly fishing, the Wild Trout Weekends package provides one and a half days of guided fly fishing, two nights' accommodations and meals from Friday dinner through Sunday lunch. The package is available for $750 per person double occupancy or $1,050 per person single occupancy.

Clearwater Lodge's midweek three-night Bonus Fishing Days package, offered Sunday through Wednesday, includes two full days of guided fly fishing and all meals Sunday evening through Wednesday lunch. This package costs $950 per person double occupancy or $1,295 single occupancy.

Clearwater Lodge's combination fish and golf package offers some of the best of both sports. The Tee Times & Trout package provides three nights of meals and lodging, two half days of guided fly fishing and two rounds of golf, including green fees and cart. The package is available any time during the week for $895 per person double occupancy or $1,295 single occupancy.

For the fly fisher who needs more, the lodge offers a four-night Angler's Getaway package any time during the week. The package includes three full days of guiding and four nights of accommodations and meals for $1,295 per person double occupancy or $1,895 single occupancy.

The lodge's midweek golf-only package, Bonus Golf Days, provides accommodations and meals for two nights, Wednesday dinner through Friday breakfast (excluding Thursday lunch), plus two rounds of golf, green fees and cart. The package is available for $400 per person.

These packages are all available throughout the fly fishing season, which is from mid-April to mid-November. All fishing packages include major tackle, and golf packages include green fees and cart. Groups may inquire about private programs.

The lodge's Fly Shop offers guests a wide selection of the season's best flies and other tackle, plus clothing and gift items.

Clearwater's home waters wind through the forested mountain terrain between the volcanic peaks of Mount Shasta to the north and Mount Lassen to the south. Guests have access to the finest concentration of wild trout waters in California, including Fall River and Hat Creek, as well as famed tailwaters on the Pit, McCloud and Upper Sacramento rivers. The area also offers a rich array of sights, such as lava springs, historical Native American sites, waterfalls and the Pacific Crest Trail.

Clearwater Lodge at the Pit River comprises a main building, annex and individual cottages. In the main building, guests are encouraged to exchange fish stories before the fireplace in the Great Room before retiring to one of seven bedrooms, each with a queen bed and private bath. The Annex features six single bedrooms, two large shared baths and a spacious sitting room with a natural rock fireplace. Three individual cottages, set away from the lodge among the trees, provide one- and two-bedroom accommodations. Amenities include wireless Internet access and air conditioning. Gourmet meals tempt appetites after a day on the river or on the green and are served family-style.
