Cleveland Based CareerBoard.com Expands to 47 Local Job Boards in the USA

CLEVELAND, OH--(Marketwire - February 25, 2010) - CareerBoard.com announced today the addition of 35 local job boards to their existing 12 job board network. CareerBoard now operates 47 local job boards across the USA.

Peter Tuttle, President of CareerBoard.com, commented, "We have been providing a quality service to the Midwest market for nearly 12 years now and have found our offering of 'Local Jobs, Local Talent' meets the needs of both employers and job seekers. Most employers will fill their openings with people who live in their area and similarly, the majority of job seekers look for work close to where they live."

Launching its' first job board in 1997, CareerBoard set out with the mission to connect local employers with local job seekers throughout Northeast Ohio. CareerBoard's immediate success in Cleveland led to the launch of three other job boards in Ohio including Columbus.CareerBoard.com, Cincinnati.CareerBoard.com and Toledo.CareerBoard.com shortly after.

CareerBoard differentiates itself from other job boards by offering cost effective alternatives to traditional 30-day advertisements including 7-day job postings and a Pay for Performance pricing option.

The 7-day job posting was developed in response to the results of a study that concluded 70% of applications occurred within the first week of a position being posted. "We give employers the flexibility to control their costs by advertising for a shorter period of time without significantly reducing candidate response," according to Tuttle.

CareerBoard's Pay for Performance (P4P) product enables employers to post jobs for free and only pay for qualified applications. Employers build a "qualified candidate profile" through a series of filtering questions and their cost per applicant is calculated from the number and depth of the filtering questions selected and the hiring salary.

"While the majority of hires will come from the local market we also understand the occasional need to recruit outside of the area. It was important for us to develop a system in which employers can post their jobs locally, regionally or nationally and manage their talent from one centralized area," explains Tuttle.
