CliniComp Looks Forward to Assisting Hospitals in Achieving Stage 2 Meaningful Use

Company's Depth of Compliance Knowledge Will Help Customers Take the Next Step

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 4, 2012) - Continuing its tradition of offering flexibility to its hospital clients, CliniComp, Intl., a leading healthcare integration technology provider for high acuity environments, announced today that it is committed to advancing its Essentris® EMR solution to Stage 2 certification. This commitment comes in light of the recently enacted guidelines released by the ONC (Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology) last month. The CliniComp Essentris solution offers 23 certified modules under Stage 1 guidelines which enable hospitals and providers to qualify for meaningful use financial incentives under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

"We are committed to pursuing the highest level of achievement that would best serve our hospital customers," explains Chris Haudenschild, Chairman and CEO of CliniComp, Intl. "Our goal is always to help clients maximize their EMR investment. We look forward to focusing our attention on Stage 2 Meaningful Use requirements so that our clients may continue to enhance care delivery and take advantage of the financial benefits available to them," Haudenschild added.

As the long standing inpatient EMR provider for the Department of Defense (DoD), CliniComp is an expert in complying with the most exacting requirements and regulations, with a track record of accomplishing many of the proposed Meaningful Use objectives prior to certification. This provides their customers with a strong foundation for pursuing Stage 2 and 3 meaningful use certification as well.

For Stage 1, CliniComp chose to take a modular approach to certification in order to allow their clients the ultimate in flexibility. Certified by an ONC-ATCB*, CliniComp's Essentris maintains Stage 1 meaningful use certification for the following modules from the general and inpatient criteria:

  • Maintain up-to-date problem list;
  • Generating patient lists;
  • Computerized provider order entry;
  • Drug-drug, drug-allergy interaction checks and drug formulary checks;
  • Maintain active medication lists, and medication allergy lists;
  • The recording and charting of vital signs;
  • Record demographics;
